OMFS 86001 Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Students will participate in the evaluation and surgical management of patients requiring advanced oral, head, and neck surgery. Clinical areas of focus will include diagnosis and management of patients with benign and malignant diseases of the head and neck. Exposure to facial trauma, surgical reconstruction, microvascular surgery, and a wide spectrum of benign and malignant head and neck tumors will be included. Students will take part in a multidisciplinary approach to the management of head and neck cancer in collaboration with oncology and radiation oncology, in addition to exposure to surgical and nonsurgical cancer treatment modalities including radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
