PEDS 86011 Child Abuse Pediatrics
The trainees have a four-week rotation in the Child Advocacy Resources and Evaluation (C.A.R.E.) Team clinic and inpatient consults. The trainee will be exposed to multiple care providers within the department including Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Advance Practice Providers, and child abuse pediatricians. The trainee will be exposed to the evaluation of all forms of abuse and neglect. In addition to participating in patient evaluations, there will be opportunities to be exposed to the multidisciplinary approach from a criminal and civil legal perspective including court proceedings.
