ANES 86003 Pediatric Anesthesiology

Students will participate in the care of pediatric patients in the perioperative and procedural environment to understand the principles of general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and sedation, including the application of these principles in the management of patients. Students will become acquainted with the multiple roles the anesthesiologist plays both in and outside of the operative room. Learning will primarily occur in operating rooms and procedural areas where medical students will be paired with attending faculty. Students will participate in the management of patients undergoing various types of surgery.
