SURG 86006 Plastic Surgery

Students will be exposed to a wide range of areas involving both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Areas of focus will include management of congenital deformities, traumatic injuries, neoplastic processes, reconstructive surgery, wound care, and cosmetic surgery. Students will participate in the evaluation and management of patients in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient, outpatient, and the operating room. Exposure to suturing techniques, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, reconstruction of Mohs surgery wounds, and breast reconstruction will also be included in this elective.
