SURG 86008 Cardiothoracic Surgery
This rotation will give the students increased exposure to the care of cardiothoracic surgical patients. Emphasis will be placed on the pathophysiology of the diseases that bring cardiothoracic patients to the operating room, with additional focus on developing and honing basic surgical skills. Students will be a part of the care team as full participants, including inpatient rounding, pre-, post-, and intra-operative care, scrubbing for surgeries, and pre and post-op clinic visits.
