IMED 86002 Cardiology
During this clinical elective, the student will work with cardiologists and share in the responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient evaluation, management, and disposition of cardiac patients. The elective will aim to expose the student to a wide variety of common cardiac disorders. The fundamentals of the cardiac examination, as well as therapeutics, will be emphasized. The significance, usefulness, and manner of performing special diagnostic studies including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, exercise stress tests, Holter monitors, nuclear scans, and cardiac catheterizations will be taught and applied to patient care.
